Our class discussions on visual rhetoric have changed the way I look at advertisements
in a few key ways. I'm much more analytical when I look at ads. Now I look at the ad
and I consider what consumer base the ad is trying to reach? And how are the advertisers
trying to reach their intended consumers? What lifestyle or image are they representing?
And what rhetorical strategies do they use to accomplish their goal? I also seem to have
lost a certain ignorance when perceiving advertisements. No longer do I just take in an
ad blindly. I'm not content to just digest the ad as is. I want to break it apart. I want
to analyze it's pieces. I guess that comes back around to I'm much more analytical in the
way I look at ads now. Which is a good thing. I like having a deeper understanding of how
advertisers are trying to sway my opinion. It gives me a better defense against the
constant bombardment of ads that I wade through each day. Well, that's all
I have for now, peace out.

I'm not gonna buy that, and you can't make me.
