Kobe Zoom IV

I visited www.Nike.com and they had some pretty cool ideas for visual rhetoric. They have this 3D virtual imagery where you click on a little bar that you can drag across your screen and above the bar there is a picture of a new shoe they are trying to sell called the Kobe Zoom IV. You drag the bar across your screen and it moves the shoe in a certain way so you can see all the angles of vision. I thought this was a very good, and very usefull idea of visual rhetoric because it lets you view the shoe in multiple angles instead of just 1. If you can only see the shoe in 1 angle, You are risking the fact that you might not even like the shoe if you bought it. The way they portray their product, you are able to see the whole show in every angle possible and it sort of makes you feel like your actually holding the shoe. The image is crystal clear and it feels like its right there in front of you! Another good use of visual rhetoric in this 3D visual imagery is the fact that the shoe has Kobe Bryants (one of THE biggest NBA stars if you didnt know) signature in gold lettering on the back of the shoe. And that would persuade ANY die hard fan of Kobe Bryant to buy these shoes because they are "Kobe's" shoes. All in all, i think Nike.com's visual rhetoric is very succesfull because they have a very unique way of displaying/selling their products. Excuse me while i go purchase those shoes. ;-)
