Visual Rhetoric

I have noticed that after we have discussed and talked about visual rhetoric, the more i have used it in my daily-routine'd life. Whenever i look at an advertisement, i always catch myself looking at more details and seeing how the seller is trying to convince me to buy his/her product. It's very interesting looking at the crazy ideas people come up with to try to get you to buy what they are selling. Sometimes its quite entertaining, other times its just weird, and sometimes i just find myself asking "What on earth does this have to do with the product?". I used to not really pay attention to the little details that are in pictures, but after our class discussion and seeing the way everyone picked out little things they saw, it kind of helped me open my eyes and see all those bits and pieces rather than seeing the picture as a whole, even though that can be helpful at times. One last thing i learned is to read the fine print in the picture or the writing (if any) because sometimes the things people write on their ads makes it more understandable rather than looking at the picture itself and trying to make sense of it.
