Nike.com a website for the "Elite"
As I browse Nike.com it becomes very apparent that I have left the world of "normal" people with "normal" abilities, and been tossed into a world filled with athletes that can run faster jump higher and BE better. These new abilities and more are all because of Nike. And it leads me to believe that if I own a pair of Nikes I can become one of them too because once you own a pair of Nikes you'll never be normal again. On Nike.com you can browse a list of other not "normal" people like Andrei Kirilenko, and LeBron James and it even has the source of their abilities... "Which Nike shoes they use". Once you own your own pair of Nikes the website has lots of tools to help you fit in to your new family, like for instance you can learn how to "Draw the Double Team" from Lebron James, or learn to do a "Pull-up Jumper" from Kobe Bryant. You can also get connected with your own "Ballers Network" set up games with other "Elite" Nike shoe owners. I feel that the visual rhetoric of this website is that they are all better than you, and if you want to be one of them you need Nike shoes to do it. Luckily for me, I’ve never wanted to be anyone but ME, so this website had very little affect on me.
