Viva La Coldplay!
I was instantly intrigued by the idea of going to coldplay.com, because of the incredible music the band Coldplay puts out. I had equally high expectations for the website. When you first enter the site it has the word “Viva” in red and black letters boldly written across the screen. The rest of the page is white, with very simple drawings and a child like font. The Center focus of the word “Viva” immediately reminded me of their latest album (which is brilliant, if you haven’t picked it up already). The page defiantly has a main focus of the new album, and even has a link to download some free music of theirs, as a thank you to the fans. Although I have all the free songs, I immediately entered my email address and downloaded the free music. (What is it with me and the word ‘free’?) I think the free download will make fans feel loved and appreciated by the band. If you click the other links such as “news” or “discography”, the website continues to have an artistic and simple feel to it. On the “live” page, it has a messy green paint background, with words that appear to be finger painted in white. The words say things like go, love, and heavy. The whole website reminded me of Viva La Vida tour and made me want to go see them live again, which in the end, is the effect I’m sure the web designer wanted. Great website, great band, check them out :]
